Tena kho pana samayena pañcamattānaṃ licchavisatānaṃ sārandade cetiye sannisinnānaṃ sannipatitānaṃ ayamantarākathā udapādi – 『『pañcannaṃ ratanānaṃ pātubhāvo dullabho lokasmiṃ. Katamesaṃ pañcannaṃ? Hatthiratanassa pātubhāvo dullabho lokasmiṃ, assaratanassa pātubhāvo dullabho lokasmiṃ, maṇiratanassa pātubhāvo dullabho lokasmiṃ, itthiratanassa pātubhāvo dullabho lokasmiṃ, gahapatiratanassa pātubhāvo dullabho lokasmiṃ. Atha kho te licchavī magge purisaṃ ṭhapesuṃ [pesesuṃ (syā. ka.)] – 『『yadā tvaṃ [yathā tvaṃ (sī. pī.)], ambho purisa, passeyyāsi bhagavantaṃ, atha amhākaṃ āroceyyāsī』』ti. Addasā kho so puriso bhagavantaṃ dūratova āgacchantaṃ; disvāna yena te licchavī tenupasaṅkami; upasaṅkamitvā te licchavī etadavoca – 『『ayaṃ so, bhante, bhagavā gacchati arahaṃ sammāsambuddho; yassadāni kālaṃ maññathā』』ti.

Atha kho te licchavī yena bhagavā tenupasaṅkamiṃsu; upasaṅkamitvā bhagavantaṃ abhivādetvā ekamantaṃ aṭṭhaṃsu. Ekamantaṃ ṭhitā kho te licchavī bhagavantaṃ etadavocuṃ –

『『Sādhu, bhante, yena sārandadaṃ cetiyaṃ tenupasaṅkamatu anukampaṃ upādāyā』』ti. Adhivāsesi bhagavā tuṇhībhāvena. Atha kho bhagavā yena sārandadaṃ cetiyaṃ tenupasaṅkami; upasaṅkamitvā paññatte āsane nisīdi. "諸比丘,具足五法者必定墮入地獄。是哪五法?殺生、偷盜、邪淫、妄語、飲酒放逸。諸比丘,具足這五法者必定墮入地獄。 "諸比丘,具足五法者必定生於天界。是哪五法?離殺生、離偷盜、離邪淫、離妄語、離飲酒放逸。諸比丘,具足這五法者必定生於天界。"第五則完。 6. 朋友經 146. Datvā avajānāti ārabhati ca, sārandada tikaṇḍa nirayena ca;
