923-934. Sāvatthinidānaṃ 『『cattāro me, bhikkhave, jhānā. Katame cattāro? Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu vivicceva kāmehi vivicca akusalehi dhammehi savitakkaṃ savicāraṃ vivekajaṃ pītisukhaṃ paṭhamaṃ jhānaṃ upasampajja viharati. Vitakkavicārānaṃ vūpasamā ajjhattaṃ sampasādanaṃ cetaso ekodibhāvaṃ avitakkaṃ avicāraṃ samādhijaṃ pītisukhaṃ dutiyaṃ jhānaṃ upasampajja viharati. Pītiyā ca virāgā upekkhako ca viharati sato ca sampajāno sukhañca kāyena paṭisaṃvedeti, yaṃ taṃ ariyā ācikkhanti – 『upekkhako satimā sukhavihārī』ti tatiyaṃ jhānaṃ upasampajja viharati. Sukhassa ca pahānā dukkhassa ca pahānā pubbeva somanassadomanassānaṃ atthaṅgamā adukkhamasukhaṃ upekkhāsatipārisuddhiṃ catutthaṃ jhānaṃ upasampajja viharati. Ime kho, bhikkhave, cattāro jhānā』』ti.
『『Seyyathāpi, bhikkhave, gaṅgā nadī pācīnaninnā pācīnapoṇā pācīnapabbhārā; evameva kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhu cattāro jhāne bhāvento cattāro jhāne bahulīkaronto nibbānaninno hoti nibbānapoṇo nibbānapabbhāro. Kathañca, bhikkhave, bhikkhu cattāro jhāne bhāvento cattāro jhāne bahulīkaronto nibbānaninno hoti nibbānapoṇo nibbānapabbhāro? Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu vivicceva kāmehi vivicca akusalehi dhammehi savitakkaṃ savicāraṃ vivekajaṃ pītisukhaṃ paṭhamaṃ jhānaṃ upasampajja viharati. Vitakkavicārānaṃ vūpasamā…pe… dutiyaṃ jhānaṃ…pe… tatiyaṃ jhānaṃ…pe… catutthaṃ jhānaṃ upasampajja viharati. Evaṃ kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhu cattāro jhāne bhāvento cattāro jhāne bahulīkaronto nibbānaninno hoti nibbānapoṇo nibbānapabbhāro』』ti. Dvādasamaṃ.
Gaṅgāpeyyālavaggo paṭhamo.
Tassuddānaṃ –
Cha pācīnato ninnā, cha ninnā ca samuddato;
Dvete cha dvādasa honti, vaggo tena pavuccatīti.
Appamādavaggo vitthāretabbo.
Tassuddānaṃ –
Tathāgataṃ padaṃ kūṭaṃ, mūlaṃ sāro ca vassikaṃ;
Rājā candimasūriyā, vatthena dasamaṃ padanti.
Balakaraṇīyavaggo vitthāretabbo.
Tassuddānaṃ –
Balaṃ bījañca nāgo ca, rukkho kumbhena sūkiyā;
Ākāsena ca dve meghā, nāvā āgantukā nadīti.
Esanāvaggo vitthāretabbo.
Tassuddānaṃ –
Esanā vidhā āsavo, bhavo ca dukkhatā tisso;
Khilaṃ malañca nīgho ca, vedanā taṇhā tasinā cāti.

- 恒河重誦品 1-12. 十二禪那等經 923-934. 舍衛城因緣。"諸比丘,有四種禪那。哪四種?在此,諸比丘,比丘遠離感官欲樂,遠離不善法,進入並安住于具有尋、伺,由離生喜、樂的初禪。尋、伺寂止,內心寧靜,心專一境性,無尋無伺,定生喜、樂,進入並安住于第二禪。離喜而住,具念正知,以身受樂,聖者稱此為'舍念樂住',進入並安住于第三禪。斷樂斷苦,先前的喜憂已滅,不苦不樂,舍念清凈,進入並安住于第四禪。諸比丘,這就是四種禪那。" "諸比丘,譬如恒河向東傾斜,向東傾注,向東奔流;同樣地,諸比丘,比丘修習四禪,多修四禪,則向涅槃傾斜,向涅槃傾注,向涅槃奔流。諸比丘,比丘如何修習四禪,多修四禪,而向涅槃傾斜,向涅槃傾注,向涅槃奔流?在此,諸比丘,比丘遠離感官欲樂,遠離不善法,進入並安住于具有尋、伺,由離生喜、樂的初禪。尋、伺寂止⋯⋯第二禪⋯⋯第三禪⋯⋯進入並安住于第四禪。諸比丘,比丘如是修習四禪,多修四禪,則向涅槃傾斜,向涅槃傾注,向涅槃奔流。"第十二。 恒河重誦品第一。 其攝頌: 六向東傾斜,六傾注入海; 這兩個六法,共十二,稱為一品。 不放逸品應詳述。 其攝頌: 如來、足跡、屋頂、 根本、核心、茉莉; 國王、月亮和太陽, 衣服為第十項。 應作力量品應詳述。 其攝頌: 力量、種子和龍象, 樹木、水罐與縫針; 天空和兩種雲彩, 船隻、客人與河流。 尋求品應詳述。 其攝頌: 尋求、差別、漏、 有、三種苦、 荒穢、垢、繫縛、 受、愛、渴愛。

『『Pañcimāni, bhikkhave, uddhambhāgiyāni saṃyojanāni. Katamāni pañca? Rūparāgo, arūparāgo, māno, uddhaccaṃ, avijjā – imāni kho, bhikkhave, pañcuddhambhāgiyāni saṃyojanāni. Imesaṃ kho, bhikkhave, pañcannaṃ uddhambhāgiyānaṃ saṃyojanānaṃ abhiññāya pariññāya parikkhayāya pahānāya cattāro jhānā bhāvetabbā. Katame cattāro? Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu vivicceva kāmehi vivicca akusalehi dhammehi savitakkaṃ savicāraṃ vivekajaṃ pītisukhaṃ paṭhamaṃ jhānaṃ upasampajja viharati. Tassuddānaṃ –
Ogho yogo upādānaṃ, ganthā anusayena ca;
Kāmaguṇā nīvaraṇā, khandhā oruddhambhāgiyāti.
Jhānasaṃyuttaṃ navamaṃ.
- "諸比丘,有五種上分結。哪五種?色貪、無色貪、慢、掉舉、無明——諸比丘,這就是五種上分結。諸比丘,爲了完全了知、遍知、滅盡、斷除這五種上分結,應當修習四種禪那。哪四種?在此,諸比丘,比丘遠離感官欲樂,遠離不善法,進入並安住于具有尋、伺,由離生喜、樂的初禪。尋、伺寂止,內心寧靜,心專一境性,無尋無伺,定生喜、樂,進入並安住于第二禪⋯⋯第三禪⋯⋯進入並安住于第四禪。諸比丘,爲了完全了知、遍知、滅盡、斷除這五種上分結,應當修習這四種禪那。"應詳述。第十。(應如道相應那樣詳述。) 暴流品第五。 其攝頌: 暴流、軛、取、 系、隨眠、 欲欲、蓋、 蘊、下分與上分。 禪那相應第九。
