  4. Evaṃ me sutaṃ – ekaṃ samayaṃ bhagavā sāvatthiyaṃ viharati jetavane anāthapiṇḍikassa ārāme. Tatra kho bhagavā bhikkhū āmantesi – 『『bhikkhavo』』ti. 『『Bhadante』』ti te bhikkhū bhagavato paccassosuṃ. Bhagavā etadavoca –

『『Anamataggoyaṃ [anamataggāyaṃ (pī. ka.)] bhikkhave, saṃsāro. Pubbā koṭi na paññāyati avijjānīvaraṇānaṃ sattānaṃ taṇhāsaṃyojanānaṃ sandhāvataṃ saṃsarataṃ. Seyyathāpi, bhikkhave, puriso yaṃ imasmiṃ jambudīpe tiṇakaṭṭhasākhāpalāsaṃ taṃ chetvā [tacchetvā (bahūsu)] ekajjhaṃ saṃharitvā caturaṅgulaṃ caturaṅgulaṃ ghaṭikaṃ katvā nikkhipeyya – 『ayaṃ me mātā, tassā me mātu ayaṃ mātā』ti, apariyādinnāva [apariyādiṇṇāva (sī.)] bhikkhave, tassa purisassa mātumātaro assu, atha imasmiṃ jambudīpe tiṇakaṭṭhasākhāpalāsaṃ parikkhayaṃ pariyādānaṃ gaccheyya. Taṃ kissa hetu? Anamataggoyaṃ, bhikkhave, saṃsāro. Pubbā koṭi na paññāyati avijjānīvaraṇānaṃ sattānaṃ taṇhāsaṃyojanānaṃ sandhāvataṃ saṃsarataṃ. Ananussaritāva bhikkhave, tehi kappā assu, atha kho te cattāro sāvakā vassasatāyukā vassasatajīvino vassasatassa accayena kālaṃ kareyyuṃ. Evaṃ bahukā kho, bhikkhave, kappā abbhatītā atikkantā.   2. 山經 住在舍衛城......(略)......園中。那時,有一位比丘來到世尊所在之處;來到后,向世尊禮拜,然後坐在一旁。坐在一旁的那位比丘對世尊說:"尊者,一劫有多長?""比丘,一劫很長。要計算它有多少年、多少百年、多少千年或多少十萬年是很難的。" "尊者,能否作個比喻?""可以,比丘。"世尊說,"比丘,假設有一座大石山,長一由旬,寬一由旬,高一由旬,堅實無孔,整體如一。如果有人每一百年用迦尸布擦拭一次,這座大石山會因這種方法而更快地耗盡、消失,而一劫還未結束。比丘,一劫就是這麼長。比丘,如此長的劫數,不只一劫已經輪迴,不只百劫已經輪迴,不只千劫已經輪迴,不只十萬劫已經輪迴。這是什麼原因呢?比丘,這輪迴是無始的。最初起點......(略)......比丘,這足以使人厭離一切有為法,足以使人離欲,足以使人解脫。"第五。

  4. 弟子經 住在舍衛城。那時,許多比丘來到世尊所在之處......(略)......坐在一旁的那些比丘對世尊說:"尊者,已經過去了多少劫?""比丘們,已經過去了很多劫。要計算它們有多少劫、多少百劫、多少千劫或多少十萬劫是很難的。" "尊者,能否作個比喻?""可以,比丘們。"世尊說,"比丘們,假設這裡有四位壽命百歲的弟子。他們每天都能回憶十萬劫。比丘們,即使這樣,他們也無法回憶所有的劫數,而這四位壽命百歲的弟子在一百年後就會去世。比丘們,已經過去了如此多的劫。要計算它們有多少劫、多少百劫、多少千劫或多少十萬劫是很難的。這是什麼原因呢?比丘們,這輪迴是無始的......(略)......足以解脫。"第七。

Ekamantaṃ nisinno kho so brāhmaṇo bhagavantaṃ etadavoca – 『『kīvabahukā nu kho, bho gotama, kappā abbhatītā atikkantā』』ti? 『『Bahukā kho, brāhmaṇa, kappā abbhatītā atikkantā. Te na sukarā saṅkhātuṃ – 『ettakā kappā iti vā, ettakāni kappasatāni iti vā, ettakāni kappasahassāni iti vā, ettakāni kappasatasahassāni iti vā』』』ti.

『『Sakkā pana, bho gotama, upamaṃ kātu』』nti? 『『Sakkā, brāhmaṇā』』ti bhagavā avoca. 『『Seyyathāpi, brāhmaṇa, yato cāyaṃ gaṅgā nadī pabhavati yattha ca mahāsamuddaṃ appeti, yā etasmiṃ antare vālikā sā na sukarā saṅkhātuṃ – 『ettakā vālikā iti vā, ettakāni vālikasatāni iti vā, ettakāni vālikasahassāni iti vā, ettakāni vālikasatasahassāni iti vā』ti. Tato bahutarā kho, brāhmaṇa, kappā abbhatītā atikkantā. Te na sukarā saṅkhātuṃ – 『ettakā kappā iti vā, ettakāni kappasatāni iti vā, ettakāni kappasahassāni iti vā, ettakāni kappasatasahassāni iti vā』ti. Taṃ kissa hetu? Anamataggoyaṃ, brāhmaṇa, saṃsāro. 『『Anamataggoyaṃ , bhikkhave, saṃsāro…pe… ekapuggalassa, bhikkhave, kappaṃ sandhāvato saṃsarato siyā evaṃ mahā aṭṭhikaṅkalo aṭṭhipuñjo aṭṭhirāsi yathāyaṃ vepullo pabbato, sace saṃhārako assa, sambhatañca na vinasseyya. Taṃ kissa hetu? Anamataggoyaṃ, bhikkhave, saṃsāro…pe… alaṃ vimuccitu』』nti.

Idamavoca bhagavā. Idaṃ vatvāna sugato athāparaṃ etadavoca satthā –

『『Ekassekena kappena, puggalassaṭṭhisañcayo;

Siyā pabbatasamo rāsi, iti vuttaṃ mahesinā.

『『So kho panāyaṃ akkhāto, vepullo pabbato mahā;

Uttaro gijjhakūṭassa, magadhānaṃ giribbaje.

『『Yato ca ariyasaccāni, sammappaññāya passati;

Dukkhaṃ dukkhasamuppādaṃ, dukkhassa ca atikkamaṃ;

Ariyaṃ caṭṭhaṅgikaṃ maggaṃ, dukkhūpasamagāminaṃ.

『『Sa sattakkhattuṃparamaṃ, sandhāvitvāna puggalo;

Dukkhassantakaro hoti, sabbasaṃyojanakkhayā』』ti. dasamaṃ;

  3. 恒河經 住在王舍城(現今印度比哈爾邦巴特那市附近)竹林園。那時,有一位婆羅門來到世尊所在之處;來到后,與世尊互相問候。寒暄禮節過後,坐在一旁。坐在一旁的那位婆羅門對世尊說:"尊敬的喬達摩,已經過去了多少劫?""婆羅門,已經過去了很多劫。要計算它們有多少劫、多少百劫、多少千劫或多少十萬劫是很難的。" "尊敬的喬達摩,能否作個比喻?""可以,婆羅門。"世尊說,"婆羅門,就像從恒河的源頭到它匯入大海的這段距離中的沙粒,很難計算出'有這麼多沙粒'或'有這麼多百沙粒'或'有這麼多千沙粒'或'有這麼多十萬沙粒'。婆羅門,已經過去的劫數比這還要多得多。要計算它們有多少劫、多少百劫、多少千劫或多少十萬劫是很難的。這是什麼原因呢?婆羅門,這輪迴是無始的。被無明所覆蓋、被愛慾所束縛的眾生,流轉輪迴,其最初起點是不可知的。婆羅門,你們長久以來已經經歷瞭如此多的苦難、劇烈的痛苦、災難,屍骨堆積如山。婆羅門,這足以使人厭離一切有為法,足以使人離欲,足以使人解脫。" 說完這些,那位婆羅門對世尊說:"太妙了,尊敬的喬達摩,太妙了,尊敬的喬達摩......(略)......愿尊敬的喬達摩從今以後接受我為優婆塞,終生皈依。"第八。

  4. 棍子經 住在舍衛城......(略)......"諸比丘,這輪迴是無始的。被無明所覆蓋、被愛慾所束縛的眾生,流轉輪迴,其最初起點是不可知的。諸比丘,就像一根棍子被拋向空中,有時會以根部落地,有時會以中部落地,有時會以頂端落地;同樣地,諸比丘,被無明所覆蓋、被愛慾所束縛的眾生,流轉輪迴,有時從這個世界去到另一個世界,有時從另一個世界來到這個世界。這是什麼原因呢?諸比丘,這輪迴是無始的......(略)......足以解脫。"第九。
  5. 人經 一時,世尊住在王舍城鷲峰山。在那裡,世尊對比丘們說:"諸比丘。"那些比丘回答世尊說:"尊者。"世尊如是說: "諸比丘,這輪迴是無始的......(略)......諸比丘,如果一個人在一劫中流轉輪迴,他的骨頭堆積起來可能會像這毗富羅山一樣高,如果有人來收集,而且收集的不會消失。這是什麼原因呢?諸比丘,這輪迴是無始的......(略)......足以解脫。" 世尊說了這些。說完后,善逝、導師又說了以下內容: "一個人在一劫中,骨頭的堆積; 可能會像山一樣高,大仙如是說。 所說的這座大山,名叫毗富羅; 位於鷲峰山北邊,摩揭陀國的山城。 當他以正慧,如實見四聖諦; 苦及苦之生起,以及苦的超越; 八支聖道,導向苦的止息。 這樣的人最多七次,往返輪迴后; 滅盡一切結縛,便成苦的終結者。"第十。 第一品完。 其攝頌: 草木與大地,眼淚和母乳,山; 芥子、弟子、恒河,棍子和人。 第二品

  6. 三十位比丘經 住在王舍城竹林園。那時,有三十位來自波婆(Pāvā)的比丘,全都是林居者、托缽乞食者、穿糞掃衣者、只持三衣者,但都還有結縛,來到世尊所在之處;來到后,向世尊禮拜,然後坐在一旁。世尊心想:"這三十位來自波婆的比丘,全都是林居者、托缽乞食者、穿糞掃衣者、只持三衣者,但都還有結縛。我應該為他們說法,使他們就在這座位上,心無執取而從諸漏中解脫。"於是世尊對比丘們說:"諸比丘。"那些比丘回答世尊說:"尊者。"世尊如是說: "諸比丘,這輪迴是無始的。被無明所覆蓋、被愛慾所束縛的眾生,流轉輪迴,其最初起點是不可知的。諸比丘,你們認為哪個更多?是你們在這漫長的輪迴中,因被斬首而流出的血,還是四大海洋中的水?""尊者,依我們對世尊所教導的法的理解,我們在這漫長的輪迴中,因被斬首而流出的血更多,而不是四大海洋中的水。" "很好,很好,諸比丘。你們很好地理解了我所教導的法。諸比丘,確實你們在這漫長的輪迴中,因被斬首而流出的血更多,而不是四大海洋中的水。諸比丘,你們長久以來作為牛而被斬首所流出的血,比四大海洋中的水還多。諸比丘,你們長久以來作為水牛而被斬首所流出的血......(略)......作為羊而被斬首......作為山羊而被斬首......作為鹿而被斬首......作為雞而被斬首......作為豬而被斬首......諸比丘,你們長久以來作為村裡的盜賊而被捕獲並斬首所流出的血。諸比丘,你們長久以來作為路上的強盜而被捕獲並斬首所流出的血。諸比丘,你們長久以來作為姦夫而被捕獲並斬首所流出的血,比四大海洋中的水還多。這是什麼原因呢?諸比丘,這輪迴是無始的......(略)......足以解脫。" 世尊說了這些。那些比丘滿懷歡喜,讚歎世尊所說。當這個解說被宣說時,那三十位來自波婆的比丘,心無執取而從諸漏中解脫。第三。

Passatha, bhikkhave, sā cevimassa pabbatassa samaññā antarahitā, te ca manussā kālaṅkatā, so ca bhagavā parinibbuto. Evaṃ aniccā, bhikkhave, saṅkhārā; evaṃ addhuvā, bhikkhave, saṅkhārā; evaṃ anassāsikā, bhikkhave, saṅkhārā. Yāvañcidaṃ, bhikkhave, alameva sabbasaṅkhāresu nibbindituṃ, alaṃ virajjituṃ, alaṃ vimuccituṃ.

Rohitassānaṃ, bhikkhave, manussānaṃ tiṃsavassasahassāni āyuppamāṇaṃ ahosi. Rohitassā, bhikkhave, manussā vaṅkakaṃ pabbataṃ tīhena ārohanti, tīhena orohanti. Tena kho pana, bhikkhave, samayena koṇāgamano bhagavā arahaṃ sammāsambuddho loke uppanno hoti. Koṇāgamanassa, bhikkhave, bhagavato arahato sammāsambuddhassa bhiyyosuttaraṃ nāma sāvakayugaṃ ahosi aggaṃ bhaddayugaṃ. Suppiyā, bhikkhave, manussā supassaṃ pabbataṃ dvīhena ārohanti, dvīhena orohanti. Tena kho pana, bhikkhave, samayena kassapo bhagavā arahaṃ sammāsambuddho loke uppanno hoti. Kassapassa, bhikkhave, bhagavato arahato sammāsambuddhassa tissabhāradvājaṃ nāma sāvakayugaṃ ahosi aggaṃ bhaddayugaṃ. Passatha, bhikkhave, sā cevimassa pabbatassa samaññā antarahitā, te ca manussā kālaṅkatā, so ca bhagavā parinibbuto. 『『Etarahi kho pana, bhikkhave, imassa vepullassa pabbatassa 『vepullo』tveva samaññā udapādi. Etarahi kho pana, bhikkhave, imesaṃ manussānaṃ 『māgadhakā』tveva samaññā udapādi. Māgadhakānaṃ, bhikkhave, manussānaṃ appakaṃ āyuppamāṇaṃ parittaṃ lahukaṃ [lahusaṃ (sī.)]; yo ciraṃ jīvati so vassasataṃ appaṃ vā bhiyyo. Māgadhakā, bhikkhave, manussā vepullaṃ pabbataṃ muhuttena ārohanti muhuttena orohanti. Etarahi kho panāhaṃ, bhikkhave, arahaṃ sammāsambuddho loke uppanno. Mayhaṃ kho pana, bhikkhave, sāriputtamoggallānaṃ nāma sāvakayugaṃ aggaṃ bhaddayugaṃ. Bhavissati, bhikkhave, so samayo yā ayañcevimassa pabbatassa samaññā antaradhāyissati, ime ca manussā kālaṃ karissanti, ahañca parinibbāyissāmi. Evaṃ aniccā, bhikkhave, saṅkhārā; evaṃ addhuvā, bhikkhave, saṅkhārā; evaṃ anassāsikā, bhikkhave, saṅkhārā.   1. 毗富羅山經 一時,世尊住在王舍城鷲峰山。在那裡,世尊對比丘們說:"諸比丘。"那些比丘回答世尊說:"尊者。"世尊如是說: "諸比丘,這輪迴是無始的。被無明所覆蓋、被愛慾所束縛的眾生,流轉輪迴,其最初起點是不可知的。諸比丘,從前這座毗富羅山被稱為'東竹山'。那時,人們被稱為'提婆拉人'。提婆拉人的壽命是四萬歲。諸比丘,提婆拉人用四天時間登上東竹山,用四天時間下山。那時,拘留孫佛、阿羅漢、正等正覺者出現於世間。拘留孫佛、阿羅漢、正等正覺者有一對最優秀的弟子,名叫毗頭羅和薩奇瓦。諸比丘,你們看,這座山的名稱已經消失了,那些人也都死了,那位佛陀也已經入滅了。諸比丘,諸行如此無常;諸比丘,諸行如此不穩固;諸比丘,諸行如此不可靠。諸比丘,這足以使人厭離一切有為法,足以使人離欲,足以使人解脫。 "諸比丘,從前這座毗富羅山被稱為'彎曲山'。那時,人們被稱為'羅希達薩人'。羅希達薩人的壽命是三萬歲。諸比丘,羅希達薩人用三天時間登上彎曲山,用三天時間下山。那時,拘那含牟尼佛、阿羅漢、正等正覺者出現於世間。拘那含牟尼佛、阿羅漢、正等正覺者有一對最優秀的弟子,名叫毗耶蘇和烏達拉。諸比丘,你們看,這座山的名稱已經消失了,那些人也都死了,那位佛陀也已經入滅了。諸比丘,諸行如此無常......(略)......足以解脫。 "諸比丘,從前這座毗富羅山被稱為'美麗山'。那時,人們被稱為'蘇皮亞人'。蘇皮亞人的壽命是二萬歲。諸比丘,蘇皮亞人用兩天時間登上美麗山,用兩天時間下山。那時,迦葉佛、阿羅漢、正等正覺者出現於世間。迦葉佛、阿羅漢、正等正覺者有一對最優秀的弟子,名叫提沙和婆羅豆婆遮。諸比丘,你們看,這座山的名稱已經消失了,那些人也都死了,那位佛陀也已經入滅了。諸比丘,諸行如此無常;諸比丘,諸行如此不穩固......(略)......足以解脫。 "諸比丘,現在這座毗富羅山被稱為'毗富羅'。現在,這些人被稱為'摩揭陀人'。摩揭陀人的壽命很短暫、有限、迅速;長壽者也不過百歲或稍多一些。諸比丘,摩揭陀人用片刻時間登上毗富羅山,用片刻時間下山。現在,我這位阿羅漢、正等正覺者出現於世間。我有一對最優秀的弟子,名叫舍利弗和目犍連。諸比丘,將來會有這樣的時候,這座山的名稱會消失,這些人會死去,我也會入滅。諸比丘,諸行如此無常;諸比丘,諸行如此不穩固;諸比丘,諸行如此不可靠。諸比丘,這足以使人厭離一切有為法,足以使人離欲,足以使人解脫。" 世尊說了這些。說完后,善逝、導師又說了以下內容: "提婆拉人稱東竹,羅希達薩稱彎曲; 蘇皮亞人稱美麗,摩揭陀稱毗富羅。

『『Aniccā vata saṅkhārā, uppādavayadhammino;

Uppajjitvā nirujjhanti, tesaṃ vūpasamo sukho』』ti. dasamaṃ;

Dutiyo vaggo.

Tassuddānaṃ –

Duggataṃ sukhitañceva, tiṃsa mātāpitena ca;

Bhātā bhaginī putto ca, dhītā vepullapabbataṃ.

"諸行實為無常,生滅為其本性; 生已終歸滅盡,寂滅乃為安樂。"第十。 第二品完。 其攝頌: 困苦與幸福,三十和父母, 兄弟姐妹子,女兒毗富羅。
