Sammodanīyaṃ kathaṃ sāraṇīyaṃ vītisāretvā ekamantaṃ nisīdi. - 色無知經 有一次,世尊住在舍衛城(現今印度北方邦斯拉瓦斯蒂縣)祇樹給孤獨園。那時,婆蹉種遊行者來到世尊處。來到后,與世尊互相問候。互相寒暄愉快、值得記憶的談話后,坐在一旁。坐在一旁的婆蹉種遊行者對世尊如是說:"尊敬的喬達摩啊,是什麼因、什麼緣,使得這世間生起如此多種見解 - 世間是常恒的,或世間是非常恒的,或世間是有邊際的,或世間是無邊際的,或命即是身,或命異身異,或如來死後存在,或如來死後不存在,或如來死後既存在又不存在,或如來死後既非存在亦非不存在?" "婆蹉啊,由於對色無知、對色集無知、對色滅無知、對趣向色滅之道無知;如是這世間生起如此多種見解 - 世間是常恒的,或世間是非常恒的,乃至如來死後既非存在亦非不存在。婆蹉啊,這就是因、這就是緣,使得這世間生起如此多種見解 - 世間是常恒的,或世間是非常恒的,乃至如來死後既非存在亦非不存在。" 第一
